I just wish I had the room to take on this sort of project!

The redish trees make such a difference and really clarify the autumn/fall feel of the seasons.

I'm looking forward to when you get the chance to make those Space Marine and Tyranid sets you mentioned!

All the best, and well done again.

73rdAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157181917211253174.post-23240227467188082522008-08-20T16:32:00.000-07:002008-08-20T16:32:00.000-07:00I was iffy on the courtyard up until the end. The...I was iffy on the courtyard up until the end. The shape displeased me at first, and you'll notice I made a small addition to round it out more halfway through. ...even then, because it was made of 4 different pieces of plasticard, I was worried about the seams. It wasn't until the grass went down, and some grass inadvertently patched in random places on the courtyard that I really felt good about it. I kept the patchy grass because it added character to it, and drew the eye from the seams.

...the rest of the board, it was a fight to hold to the vision I held with my friends (Aernout and Joe). Aernout wanted to make terrain in a way that would look nice, but not be conducive to the game (i.e. he wanted to spread the trees out. I had to remind him that we needed defined areas of "area terrain"). Joe was just so excited to be doing this that he wanted to put computer bits and such in there to make it techy. Aernout and I teamed up for that one, agreeing that it would detract from the terrain set as a "Maiden World" and that there'd be other sets we'd do with techy bits for the other armies.

At the moment, we're all ridiculously pleased with it. We've played a few small games and I think we'll be starting another soon. Aernout wants to do a Tyranid set. Joe wants Space Marine.MasterDarksolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15812633227566402070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157181917211253174.post-82927353354511929752008-08-20T16:10:00.000-07:002008-08-20T16:10:00.000-07:00Excellent work and you make it all look so easy as...Excellent work and you make it all look so easy as well! The only reason it looks blue is because it's refracting the light off of the pond "floor" similarly to how water would. If I painted the floor green or brown or yellowish, the resin would look accordingly.MasterDarksolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15812633227566402070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157181917211253174.post-32450268368433469192008-08-18T13:15:00.000-07:002008-08-18T13:15:00.000-07:00The board look great! If you can adjust the color yourself, I might have to look into it when I start some terrain of my own.
